Jeremiah 29:11 says, "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end." It is very important for us to know that God always has our best interest at heart. If we allow the Devil to deceive us into thinking God does not care or that God wants to hurt us, we are cutting off our only perfect source of help. It is true that God hates and judges sin, but He wants to forgive us and cleanse us and help us turn from wrong and turn toward the path of obedience and blessing. God wants a wonderful life for every one of us! |

Psalm 122:6 says, "Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall prosper that love thee." Here is an item that should be on everyone's prayer list - peace for Jerusalem. We hear so much in the news about turmoil and unrest around Israel. Every time we hear of another heartbreaking event, we should remember to pray for peace and we should look forward to the time when the Prince of Peace will come and put an end to war forever. There is also a promised blessing for those who love Jerusalem. Jesus made it clear that He loved Jerusalem, and He wants us to share that feeling, and He will bless us for it. |

I Samuel 12:23 says, "Moreover as for me, God forbid that I should sin against the Lord in ceasing to pray for you: but I will teach you the good and the right way:" These are the words of the prophet Samuel to the nation of Israel. Samuel expressed his commitment to continue to pray for others. In fact, he felt it would be a sin to quit praying for them. When we think about how many people are in need of prayer, and how clearly the Bible encourages us to pray, and how accessible prayer is to all believers, we should join Samuel in his determination. The only right thing to do is to keep on praying! |

Ephesians 4:32 says, "And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted,
forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven
you." God has set a high bar for us to reach for in our treatment of
each other. We might feel tempted to treat others the way we think
they deserve: be nice to those who are nice. Or we might take another
step and treat others as we want to be treated, i.e. the golden rule. But
the mark that God sets for us is the treatment we have received from
Christ. He has been kind and forgiven us, and we should follow His
example in our kindness and forgiveness toward each other.

Joshua 1:9 says, "Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed; for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest." God does not intend for us to be weak and frightened, but rather bold and confident in Him. If we truly believe that God is with us, we really have no reason to be worried about anything. There is nothing to difficult for God's wisdom to handle, there is nothing too dangerous for God's power to overcome, and there is nothing to condemning for God's love to counteract. God can handle all situations, and we simply need to trust Him. If God is for us, it really doesn't matter who is against us. We are on the winning side. Praise God, let's keep going for Him! |
